Trustees

Jamie Henderson (Treasurer):

is a business owner in the IT sector. He has worked in computing for nearly 30 years, mostly within the railway industry.   Jamie has a personal interest in Sensory Soft Play as he himself has a child with learning difficulties and understands the difficulties families face on a day-to-day basis.  Jamie helps regularly with the sessions with preparation and throughout the session.

Jamie has been a Trustee of Sensory Soft Play since its inception in 2019.

Julia Hurrell (Secretary)

Julia has been a part of various non-profit organizations, such Ninfield Carnival Committee, Ninfield Memorial Hall Committee, Ninfield Bonfire Society and Ninfield Workingmen’s Club.

She was involved with the Scouting Movement between 1980-1996, leading the Cubs, Scouts and Beavers in the Brighton area, before having her daughter in 1999.  Her daughter then joined the Guiding Movement (Rainbows, Brownies and Guides), so she then became actively involved in these too.  She also volunteered to work in the village primary school to help children with their reading, but also did a year as a mid-day supervisor.

In 2020, she was blessed with a gorgeous grandson so he keeps her busy, along with her favourite hobbies cooking, reading and completing crosswords!

Julia was appointed Secretary for Sensory Soft Play in January 2021.

James Lawton

James has worked in the field of special educational needs for many years. His passion for supporting Sensory Soft Play stems from his personal experience of being a father to his wonderful autistic son.

Witnessing the challenges and obstacles faced by his own child, inspired him to help make a difference, not only for his family, but for others going through similar journeys.

In his free time, James enjoys spending time with his family, going to football matches, watching cricket and reading.

James joined as a trustee of SSP in July 2023

Livvy Hurrell

Livvy grew up in the local area and works as a Paralegal in a Law firm and is currently undertaking a Batchelor of Laws degree. Livvy has been involved in various non-profit organisations such as the local hall committee and village fundraising events, also running the London marathon in 2021 raising money for Macmillan.

In her free time, Livvy enjoys spending time with her 3 year old son, as well as reading and cooking.
